PPP dubs Qureshi’s presser ‘irresponsible’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Palwasha Khan lashed out at Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for holding a press conference over the report of an imminent Indian attack instead of briefing parliament over the issue.

“Why such a critical matter was not discussed in the Parliament before being revealed in a press conference,” she said, adding this “irresponsible and careless attitude” of the government was unacceptable.

She said that at a time when the Indian government was ramping up its rhetoric against Pakistan, Imran Khan was talking against Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto in his recent public addresses.

She termed the presser held by Qureshi a “poor attempt” to divert people’s attention from the ever-increasing price hike.

She also chided the administration for deploying a large number of security forces in Islamabad, saying what was the government afraid of. She concluded by saying that PPP demanded a transparent trial with a just outcome.
