US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad, wrapping up his visit to Pakistan, expressed his gratitude for putting forward efforts for the Afghan peace process.
Turning to twitter the envoy before heading back to the Afghan capital of Kabul announced his trip to the federal capital coming to an end and thanked Pakistan for efforts to support the neighboring country on the road to peace.
“Just wrapped up two days in #Islamabad. Thanked #Pakistan for recent efforts supporting the #AfghanPeaceProcess,” he stated.
He also expressed gratitude “for re-affirming the understanding that ultimately Afghans, and Afghans alone, will determine their future. Always more work to be done.”

During his visit, Khalilzad had met with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and had lauded him for Pakistan playing a massive role in sustaining peace and stability in the entire region.
