PTI not to roll back accountability process: PM’s spokesman

ISLAMABAD: The spokesman to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Nadeem Afzal Chan Friday warned the people’s party leadership that Imran Khan’s government will not to step back from holding accountability for all alleged in corrupt practices during their respective tenures.

Talking to private news channel, the spokesperson said that improving the living standard of people and economy was the mission of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) democratically elected government.

He vowed that the PTI government will work for the betterment and development of country by ensuring the people are given their due rights and by utilizing all available resources to uplift the living standard of the masses.

Replying a question, he said that the corrupt would not be able to escape accountability by criticizing NAB and other institutions in the country.

He urged that according to charter of democracy (COD) both the opposition parties would not disturb the incumbent democratic government and on which basis PPP want to remove our government, he questioned.

He said that the last governments of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PPP not only destroyed the national economy but also damaged the institutions.

Reacting to the PPP leader, he also alleged that Asif Ali Zardari was the most corrupt politician in this country, who destroyed the national institutions.

He said that “We are well aware about Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s sacrifice for democracy”.

He criticised that President Asif Ali Zardari had completely forgotten Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its founding leader’s vision.

Today’s PPP leadership should learn from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s ideology and policies, adding, Bhutto’s vision had been dumped through Zardari group who was making fool of people.

“Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a real leader of the public, as he dedicated his life for the betterment and improvement of his country and his nation,” he added.

Replying another question, he said the shortcomings in the state institutions could be removed by introducing reforms.

“We are determined to hold every corrupt person accountable,” he said, adding that PTI government would not come under pressure due to any protest or train march”, he mentioned.

He further said opposition parties to avoid narrow thinking and take government seriously with showing more responsibility for country’s interest.

He also criticised, that the people who were against the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in past, adding, alliance of those parties have confused the public once again.

He said that it was unfortunate that politicians looted and plundered resources of the country in the name of serving masses in the past.

It is a universal practice in political scenario all over the world that like-minded political parties make a political alliance with each other, he concluded.
