KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday extended the pre-arrest bail of former federal minister Aijaz Jakhrani in a case pertaining to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry into the accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.

A bench of the SHC heard the pre-arrest bail plea and approved it till 4th May.

During the hearing, a NAB official informed the court that the accused had a car whose money had been deposited from a fake account. He further added that the accused was also involved in fake accounts case and an investigation was also being conducted in this regard.

Jakhrani rebuked the charges and said that the anti-theft bureau had falsely accused him of making assets beyond disclosed sources of income.

“СТI will provide required documents and information to NAB,” he said.

The court directed the NAB officials to complete its inquiry within a month and adjourned the hearing till 4th May.
