One more accuses husband of domestic violence

LAHORE: Another case of domestic violence was reported on Tuesday as housewife Sonia came forward narrating her plight at Lahore’s Green Town Police Station.

According to the registered First Information Report (FIR), the victim has experienced mental and physical torture at the hands of her husband who, she stated, would batter her in a locked room and repeatedly poke her eyes with his fingers. She further alleged that she has also been a frequent receipt of death threats made by him.

According to local media sources, the alleged perpetrator has absconded from the investigation and the police have filed a case against him. Station House Officer (SHO) of Green Town Police Station has assured Sonia that her husband will be duly apprehended and investigated once he is caught.

The above mentioned is not an isolated incident but is one of many cases that have come to surface after local women Asma Aziz and Hajra came forward accusing their husbands of torturing them, leading to their eventual arrests last week.
