Punjab CM Usman Buzdar’s father passes away

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar’s father, Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar, passed away on Monday in Taunsa due to cardiac arrest.

Umar Buzdar Khan, his other son, told the media that his father was not well for some time. “He got ill last night. We took him to the District Headquarter Hospital but he breathed his last there,” Khan said.

Fateh Muhammad Buzdar remained member of the provincial assembly (MPA) for three terms in Punjab. He was also the chief of Buzdar tribe, a feudal lord and an agriculturalist. He had also taken up profession as a school teacher.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervez Elahi, Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called Buzdar and extended their condolences.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his grief over the demise of Buzdar’s father.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif took to Twitter and expressed his grief over the demise of Fateh Muhammad Buzdar.

“We stand by the family of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar in this hour of grief. May Allah grant peace to the bereaved family and forgive the departed’s soul,” he wrote.

وزیر اعلی پنجاب عثمان بزدار کے والد محترم فتح محمد بزدار صاحب کی وفات کی افسوس ناک خبر ملی۔ اللہ مرحوم کی مغفرت فرمائے اور ان کے اہل خانہ کو صبر جمیل عطا فرمائے۔ ان ا للہ وانا الیہ راجعون!

His funeral prayers were offered after Asr prayers.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Tareen, the Punjab chief secretary, Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) attended the funeral prayers among others. Fateh Buzdar is survived by his wife, five sons and four daughters.
