Govt committed to providing inexpensive justice to masses: Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that it is the constitutional obligation of the state to provide expeditious and inexpensive justice to its people and the Government is taking all possible measures in this regard.

The president said this while talking to Wafaqi Mohtasib, Syed Tahir Shahbaz, who called on him at Aiwan-i-Sadr on Monday. Wafaqi Mohtasib also presented the annual report (2018) to the President.

The President underscored the need for use of the latest information technology tools in service delivery by the institution.

In this regard, he appreciated the launching of a mobile app of the Wafaqi Mohtasib for the complainants and revamping its website to make it more user-friendly.

He also reiterated his desire for gradual capacity-building/skills up-gradation, procedural improvements and organizational strengthening for efficient working and complaints resolution at the grassroots level.

The President stressed that seminars should be regularly held to create awareness about the role of Wafaqi Mohtasib among the masses.

Furthermore, he also urged the Wafaqi Mohtasib to expand its public outreach by utilizing various print, electronic and social media.

He especially emphasized the need for broadcasting regular programs on PTV for country-wide dissemination of information.

The president expressed his full support to Wafaqi Mohtasib in the discharge of its duties and responsibilities.
