LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Sunday inaugurated the Abdul Hakeem section of Lahore-Multan Motorway (M-3).
The 230 kilometres long newly-constructed Abdul Hakeem section of Lahore Multan Motorway connects M-3 road network to Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh and Khanewal while eight interchanges and three service areas were also constructed at the section.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership will meet expectations of the countrymen and no stone will be left unturned to resolve the problems faced by them.
He said that against the former political leadership of the country, the PTI leaders produced themselves for accountability before the nation.
Unemployment was common in the country due to corruption which deprived people of food and shelter, the Governor Punjab added.
Ch. Sarwar said that corruption is the root cause of the miseries being faced by Pakistanis and the present government will not tolerate this menace and corrupt elements would have to face the music. All segments of the society will have to make joint efforts for the development and stability of the country, he urged.
He pledged that the Punjab authorities will ensure the provision of safe drinking water to its citizens at all costs.
While commenting over recent tension between Pakistan and India, the Governor Punjab clarified that Prime Minister Imran Khan has never accepted any pressure and nor will be. Pakistan did not come under pressure from India and isolated [Indian PM] Narendra Modi from the world, he said adding that Islamabad has exposed Modi’s tricks to win Indian elections through the imposition of war.
It is worth mentioning here that the Lahore-Abdul Hakim Motorway, an important section of Karachi-Peshawar Motorway, will not only speed up trade activities but will also reduce traveling distance between many cities, especially Lahore and Multan besides reducing traveling expenses.
