KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan was injured in a road accident in Karachi’s Toll Plaza area in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to MQM-P leader Amir Khan that Khawaja Izhar Hasan was returning home from Ghotki after meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan when his car full-throttle, skidded off the road near Toll Plaza. As a result, he suffered head injuries and his three bodyguards were also injured. They were moved to a private hospital at Stadium Road for treatment. The condition of the MQM-P leader is stated to be out of danger.
The party leader Sanjay Perwani said that there was a ditch dug up on the road due to some construction work added that the accident occurred owing to a lack of a diversion sign on the motorway.
“Three of Hasan’s guards were injured in the accident, with two of them in critical condition,” MQM-P leader said.
Receiving information about the accident, a large number of MQM-P leaders and workers reached the hospital.
