‘Sindh CM not invited to any event held in province by PM’

KARACHI: Sindh CM’s Adviser Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday claimed that Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah was not invited to any of the events presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit of the province.

Commenting on the PM’s visit during a press conference, Wahab said that the Sindh CM was ostensibly not invited due to fears of him raising questions about outstanding dues, supremacy of the constitution, NFC award, and rights over gas and electricity.

He said that the formation of Karachi Transformation Committee by the PM was an unconstitutional step, adding that all administrative matters of the province are constitutionally taken care of solely by the provincial government.

The adviser stated further that regardless of the number of committees formed by the premier, they would all be supervised by the CM Sindh instead of the governor, adding that the chief executive of the province according to the constitution was the former not the latter.

Providing examples of the developmental work conducted by the Sindh government, Wahab stated that renovation of Cantonment Station and surrounding roads, revamping of Shahrah-e-Faisal, construction of underpasses and overhead bridges on it, revamping of University Road and Tariq Road in Karachi.

He further asserted that PM Khan should stop deviating from the promises he made during his election campaign while also recalling that the promise was made to build five million homes but not even 50 had been built so far
