Nawaz’s abnormal heart rhythm a matter for concern, say doctors

Doctors treating Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo at the Sharif Medical City Hospital on Saturday expressed concern for his abnormal heart rhythm due to his left artery which is not functioning properly.

Nawaz was at the hospital for various tests including a test to determine the effects of diabetes on his eyes.

It is pertinent to mention here that doctors recommended the Cardiac Holter monitoring test and Electrocardiograph (ECG) tests to further examine his heart. These tests would be conducted next week.

Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) granted Nawaz a bail in the Al-Azizia reference case for a period of six weeks against surety bonds of Rs5 million on the basis of his poor health.

Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa presided over a three-member bench including Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi.

The apex court while granting bail for medical treatment barred him from leaving the country.

Nawaz Sharif faces seven years imprisonment in the Al-Azizia corruption; he also faces disqualification and a bar from holding public office for 10 years
