SC seeks report on implementation of commission’s suggestion in Amal murder case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday sought detailed report regarding implementation on recommendations of a commission constituted on killing incident of an eight-year old girl in Karachi by the police personnel’s firing.

The counsel for victim family Faisal Siddiqui pleaded that the government of Sindh, police and National Medical Centre have submitted their reply on above report.

The findings and suggestion of the commission were read before the top court’s bench during the hearing.

At this, the bench asked victim family’s counsel to submit the detail answer after viewing the reply of all respondents on next date of hearing.

A two member bench hearing by Justice Qazi Faez Isa conducted hearing on a suo-motu case regarding the incident.

The bench asked Siddiqui to apprised the court in his reply that ‘what recommendation of the commission report had been implemented and what not so far.

Did the victim family was satisfy with the report, Justice Isa inquired.

The victim family said that it was fully satisfy with the commission report and its suggestion. However, it was not agree with the opinion of hospital regarding the incident.

The representatives of Sindh Police informed the court that several steps had been taken in light of commission’s suggestions.

Justice Isa remarked that if the parents of Amal desired to shift the case to Karachi, they could submit an application in this regard.

The bench adjourned the case till April 24.
