LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) train march led by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has concluded after reaching Larkana in the wee hours of Thursday.
PPP train march titled as “Caravan-e-Bhutto” had left Cantt Railway Station Karachi on Tuesday and reached Larkana after 40 hours. The PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto addressed the party workers at 25 railway stations during his journey from Karachi to Larkana.
On his arrival at Larkana Railway Station, Bilawal thanked the party workers for giving him a warm welcome. He said that he reached Larkana to attend the 40th martyrdom day of PPP founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Bilawal said that those who raised slogans of “change” are now afraid of the name of Bhutto. He said certain forces believed that they would eliminate the PPP and the ideology of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto but they could not. Bilawal said that anti-democratic forces were afraid of Bhutto and they do not even want to hear the name of Bhutto, adding that those forces thought that after ZA Bhutto and Shaheed BB, PPP would be finished but they were mistaken and PPP is still there. He said that due to the closure of airports, he had reached Larkana via train to attend 40th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhutto.
Lashing out at the present government, he said that those who promised to build five million houses for the poor people of the country have in fact deprived them of shelter.
He said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is a “black law” of former dictator General (r) Pervez Musharraf and if corruption is to be fought then a law will have to be introduced which should be free of political vendetta.
He said, “We will make an accountability institution under which politicians, judges and generals will be made accountable and nobody will be spared.” He added that with transparent accountability, democracy would be strengthened, but the accountability on the basis of political rivalry is not acceptable.
He said that eyes now were on PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, adding that money laundering and fake accounts case was prepared in Sindh, but now it would be heard in Rawalpindi. “They want to repeat history, therefore, we have an objection to it,” he said.
He asked what message do they wanted to give after arresting custodian and speaker of Sindh Assembly from Islamabad. He said that an innocent person like Syed Qaim Ali Shah had been called by NAB, therefore, “Nab-Gardi” is not acceptable.
He said that rulers wanted to end 1993 law and introduce one-unit and they also intended to roll back the 18th Amendment to ruin provincial autonomy. “First right of gas is for that province from where it is produced but Sindh is not being supplied proper share and gas load shedding is being carried out here. We will not allow snatching of rights of Sindh,” he added.
Bilawal further said that National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is for terrorists, Musharraf and Aleema Khan whereas “Khan Sahab has been saying that no NRO will be given to anyone, hence, all matters of Khan Sahab are based on U-turns”.
He said that accountability should not be on the basis of Lahore and Larkana. Bilawal said that a brigadier committed suicide due to NAB’s atrocities.
