LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi has suspended 40 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) after they were proved guilty in corruption charges.
The Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and district police officers (DPOs) had sent summaries regarding the said DSPs, disclosing that they were involved in corruption.
An inquiry was conducted against the DSPs during which they were found guilty.
Taking immediate action, IGP Saleemi suspended the 40 DSPs and directed them to leave the office at once.
The IGP said that an inquiry would be conducted against other corrupt officials also and they would have to face legal action which includes suspension from service.
