–New book details achievements of Talat Rana’s family

LAHORE: A book detailing the story of three generations of the Ranas of Haryana was launched on Friday at a ceremony held at a hotel in Lahore.

The book titled ‘The Ranas of Haryana: A Story of Three Generations 1859-1998’ has been written by Talat Rana and chronicles the multi-generational history of her family and the notable achievements and accomplishments of her family members.

Talat Rana addressed the ceremony along with her brother Major General (r) Ghaziuddin Rana. The writer talked about the background of the book and detailed the process of writing it.

She said that her family played an important role in the history of the country as most of her family members served the country as members of the Pakistan Armed Forces. “Many of them belonged to the army and served at the frontier,” she said.

She explained that the story of the Ranas of Haryana deserved to be told to the masses and this is why she wrote the book.

Notable Pakistani historian and former Iqbal fellow at the University of Cambridge Tahir Kamran also addressed the ceremony and talked about the achievements of the family.

The guests appreciated the contents of the book and appreciated her family’s role in the service of the motherland. Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Amir Riaz was also present on the occasion.
