ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that Pakistan valued its fraternal ties with Bahrain and had an abiding interest in further augmenting these relations in all spheres.
Talking to Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who called on him today, PM Imran expressed satisfaction on the current level of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of defence.
According to statement released from his office, matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, trade and defence ties and other issues came under discussion in the meeting.
On the occasion, Lt. General Al Khalifa extended an invitation on behalf of the prime minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to PM Imran to visit Bahrain. The premier accepted the invitation and reciprocated by extending an invitation to the prime minister of Bahrain to visit Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa, had met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Lt Gen Al-Khalifa had visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) where he was called on by General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said in a statement.
The military high-ups discussed matters of mutual, professional interest and regional security.
