President visits families of Christchurch shooting victim in Karachi

KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi expresses his concerns on Christchurch mosque attack by saying “World leaders need to realize the importance of selection of words in their speeches as global peace could not be achieved by fanning hatred against Muslims” while talking to media on Sunday.

After visiting the victim families, who were martyred in the terrorist attack at mosques in Christchurch city of New Zealand, Alvi said “it will take too long to repress the flames of hatred as these issues can’t be fixed immediately.

He also said “Christchurch attack was the consequence of global narrative on Islamophobia.

The president visited the family of late Zeeshan Ahmed, who embraced martyrdom in the attack along with his parents. Earlier, he also visited the family of Syed Areeb Ahmed, another victim of the attack.

He offered Fateha and prayed for the peace of departed souls. He also expressed sympathies and solidarity with the grieving families and prayed for courage to bear the loss with fortitude.

The president said, “The government will ensure victim families.”
