PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution condemning barbaric terrorist attack at two mosques in New Zealand that killed more than 48 people.

The resolution condemned that the terrorist who killed dozens of Muslims was being labeled as ‘mentally retarded’. “The terror attack in Christchurch mosque hurt the Muslims to the core,” it added.

Resolution urged the federal government to push other countries diplomatically to foil the plan of a few lobbies declaring terrorist as a ‘mentally-challenged person.’

“The legislature also thanks the prime minister of New Zealand for expressing sympathies to the Muslim community,” the resolution reads.

The House also paid tribute to Naeem Rashid and his son for sacrificing their lives to tackle the armed terrorist and saving other worshippers.

The Foreign Office on Sunday confirmed the death of three more Pakistanis in Christchurch mosque shootings, increasing the number of Pakistanis who embraced martyrdom in the incident to nine.

According to spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal, Zeeshan Raza, his father Ghulam Hussain and mother Karam Bibi have been confirmed to have died in Friday’s terrorist attacks on two mosques in New Zealand.

The Pakistanis who were martyred in the horrific terror attack by a white supremacist Brenton Tarrant included Sohail Shahid (Lahore), Syed Jahandad Ali (Lahore), Syed Areeb Ahmed (Karachi), Mahboob Haroon (Islamabad), Naeem Rashid (Abbottabad), and Talha Naeem (Abbottabad).
