KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho Monday directed all District Health Officers and Project Directors of Vertical Programs to ensure that IDs of Lady Health Workers must be opened at earliest to release them salaries on time and she will take stern action if any lethargic attitude is adopted in this regard.
This she said while presiding over a meeting here in her office today. Secretary Health Saeed Ahmed Awan, Director General Health Dr Masood Solangi, Director EPI Dr Zahoor Baloch, all DHOs, PDs and other officers also attended the meeting.
She also took a notice of the news that certain elements were demanding money regarding opening of the IDs for LHWs and on a complaint of DHO Khairpur, she asked Secretary Health to place show cause notice to Manzoor Bugti district coordinator Khairpur for demanding money for opening IDs of LHWs.
Pechuho also directed to arrange PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction, which is a final test to detect Hepatitis) at each district and asked all District Health Officers to improve their performance.
She called for fumigation to overcome diseases specially Malaria, Dengue and others and to focus on preventive and treatment sides of the diseases. She also asked to ensure availability of Hepatitis doses across the province and directed DHOs to furnish detailed report regarding their issues specially mobility and vehicle position in their respective districts.
Pechuho said that human resources issue in Health Department should be resolved on priority basis and to fill all vacant posts in the department to run the affairs smoothly.
