Steps being taken to empower women: Buzdar

LAHORE: Federal Parliamentary Secretary Andleeb Abbas called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at the CM Office on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Usman Buzdar said, “We are taking measures to provide equal growing opportunities to women as development targets can only be achieved with their participation in every field.”

He said the role of women was very important for the economic and social development of the country.

In the past, the governments did not take solid measures to give basic rights to women, but the incumbent government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, had included women in the national mainstream.

The responsibility of empowering women would be discharged in an effective manner, he maintained.

The chief minister said women of Pakistan were competent and hardworking and they have proved their talent in every field of life.

Usman Buzdar said, “We want good relations with all neighbouring countries, but compromise will not be made on solidarity and independence of the country.”

He said history would remember the sagacious policy of PM Imran Khan for peace in the region.
