KARACHI: Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) Ahmed Ali M Shaikh on Saturday ordered all circuit benches of the SHC to wrap up pending pleas of pre-arrest bails within two weeks and also sought weekly updated reports from circuit benches.
The SHC CJ remarked that apart from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases, all pleas of pre-arrest bails be warped up within two weeks. СТ pleas for adjourning unnecessary cases be discouraged, the SHC CJ said.
He said a plea could be adjourned until the next working day in any urgent situation.
In a weekly report, it is told that there 676 pleas seeking pre-arrest bails are pending in high court, 223 are filed in high court Karachi, 292 are in Hyderabad circuit bench, 112 in high court Sukkur bench and 49 pending pleas in Larkana bench.
The SHC CJ said that all pending pleas of pre-arrest bail should be wrapped up in two weeks and their report be submitted before the SHC.
