K-Electric cuts power supply to 11 shrines as Auqaf fails to pay bills

KARACHI: Karachi Electric (KE) shut down the power supply to 11 major shrines of Karachi as the Auqaf Department failed to pay the electricity bills.

According to details, the K-Electric has repeatedly sent warning notices to the shrines due to non-payment of pending bills. However, no action was taken and KE shut down power supply to Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine due to unpaid dues of Rs 2.2 million.

Similarly, Miran Data Mazar at Nishtar Road is a defaulter of Rs 1.7 million.

The other shrines of the metropolis include Zinda Shah shrine, Achhi Qabar, Jamal Shah Bukhari and other shrines.
