ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday again issued arrest warrants for former Sindh minister Jam Khan Shoro in illegal allotment case.
As per details, the anti-corruption watchdog has also written a letter to the Islamabad director general of immigration and requested him to prevent the former minister from going abroad.
The anti-graft body had initiated a probe against the Sindh local government minister in October 2017 for allegedly occupying government land.
According to NAB officials, the former minister is facing inquiries in three different cases.
One of the cases against the former provincial local government minister pertains to illegal allotment of 62 government plots in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Former Karachi Development Authority (KDA) director general Nasir Abbas has also been arrested in the same case. NAB said illegal allotment of plots cost the national exchequer Rs 180 million.
The minister is also facing charges of encroaching 262 acres of land in Thatta and setting up of a petrol station on land designated for a water hydrant in Hyderabad’s Qasimabad area.
Shoro is currently the MPA from PS-62 Hyderabad-I elected on the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) ticket
It is pertinent to mention here that former minister Jam Khan Shoro’s protective bail ended today which was earlier extended by SHC till March 14.
