Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday shot back at Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, telling him to be a human first before being a politician.

Fawad Chaudhry in a tweet earlier this week had termed meeting of Bilawal with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) founder Nawaz Sharif as “U-Turn of the century”.

“U Turn of the Century Grandson of Bhutto reunion with Munh Bola Beta of Zia Ul Haq …… #PoliticsonHealthProject #CorruptionAlliance,” he had tweeted.

Responding to Fawad Chaudhry, who had been his adviser in the past, Bilawal said: “If U-turns make great leaders in Naya-Pakistan your saying I am now Leader of the Century?”

“Also visiting someone who is ill should be seen for what it is. Humanity above politics. Pehlay insan bano phir syasatan bano. Remember NS visit when the old Khan fell and broke his back?” he added.

On Monday, Fawad alleged that the PPP chairman had agreed on a ‘charter of reconciliation’ on the blood of Bhutto by meeting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Commenting on Bilawal’s meeting with Nawaz at the Kot Lakhpat Jail, the minister had charged in a statement that by meeting Nawaz, the PPP leader wanted to politically cash in on this event in the Punjab.

The Bilawal-Nawaz meeting is seen as an alliance in the making against the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan as a rare unity among the political leaders amid Indian tension came to an end.

Bilawal visited Nawaz in the Lahore jail on Monday between 2-3pm to inquire about his health. He was accompanied by Hassan Murtaza, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Jameel Soomro, among others.

He was allowed to meet Nawaz in accordance with the jail manual and regulations.

Talking to reporters after meeting Nawaz, Bilawal said that he was upset at finding the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo “very ill”. On behalf of PPP, he said, “I request the incumbent government to provide him with the best treatment up to his demands.”
