Police review capital’s security

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Operational Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Waqar Uddin Syed has directed all police officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements in the Capital by carrying out combing as well as search operation in all areas.

He made these directions while chairing a meeting held here at Rescue 15 to review security arrangements in the Capital which was attended among others by all SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and other police officials.

The DIG Operations directed for effective patrolling measures in the city, conduct snap checking and ensure strict checking at the entry and exit points of the city.

Following the directions of Islamabad IGP Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar, he said that effective combing and search operations should be ensured in various areas of the city including Afghan habits, slum areas, hotels, inns, and restaurants. He said that relevant DSPs should themselves monitor the search operation and not to make inconvenience for innocent people.

DIG Operations directed to take further effective steps to control crime in the city and adopt a professional as well as a responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

Issuing special directions to all SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs in connection with overall security, he said that no sluggish attitude during the performance of duties would be tolerated.

He also directed for strict action against those involved in selling or flying kites, aerial firing and pigeon racing activities.

The DIG ordered for police officials to take effective steps to control crime and adopt a professional as well as a responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

He also directed for effective measures against those involved in drug peddling activities and curb such practices in educational institutions. He asked all SPs to have monitoring and vigilance against policemen supporting such activities or criminal acts and ordered strict action against them.
