The government was fully committed to transforming police into a people-friendly department, he stressed.
It was important that through legislation village councils were developed into vibrant institutions that resolve day to day problems of citizens, he added.
He said the government was ready to facilitate former prime minister Nawaz Sharif so that he could get medical treatment from any government or private hospital of his own choice, adding if Nawaz Sharif would bring any doctor from abroad, the government would help him.
He said if Nawaz Sharif wanted to go abroad for his treatment, then the court would have to take a decision on this matter, however, the government would not put his name in Exit Control List (ECL).
He was one of those persons who said that Bilawal should be allowed to meet Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat Jail, he added.
He said charter of democracy signed between parties was not for committing corruption but it was for promoting the betterment of the people.
“I am honoured that my party chairman, prime minister and chief minister have reposed trust in me and gave me an important ministry.”
“Through this ministry I will project viewpoint of the Prime Minister and government policies and initiatives,” he added.
AURAT MARCH:
Meanwhile, Samsam reacted to the placards and slogans raised at Aurat March which was held across the country to observe International Women’s Day.
Speaking about the Aurat March, the provincial info minister said that every person has a right to express his or her opinion.
He, however, claimed “some of the placards did not reflect our society.”
“Every person has the right to their individual freedom,” the minister added.
The Aurat March was aimed at raising awareness about women issues and to shun patriarchy in the country. Women held placards and posters carrying feminist slogans. These included slogans about consent, domestic abuse and discriminatory attitude towards women.
As the pictures of these posters went viral on social media, they received a mixed reaction. Some people supported the slogans raised at Aurat March while others were critical.
