Punjab govt approves creation of 158 DTL posts

LAHORE: The Punjab Finance Department has approved the creation of deputation, training and leave (DTL) reserve posts.

According to a notification issued by the finance department, it will create 158 DTL leaves in accordance with the approval of the standing committee of the cabinet on finance and development in its meeting on Feb 7.

These posts have been created through a technical supplementary grant during the current financial year.

The announcement has opened up ample promotion chances for officials in BS-16 to 20 grade. Officials expressed hope that this announcement means promotion of 158 employees to the next higher grades and the process would soon be initiated.

Overall, 93 posts have been created in BS-18, 50 in BS-19, 13 in 20 and two in 21. Officials further said promotion of 93 BS-17 officials to BS-18 would mean promotion of an equal number of officials in BS-16 to the next higher grade.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has promised to give jobs to ten million people, but lately federal ministers have claimed that the figure will be higher at the end of their five years tenure.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said that it is a responsibility of the government to create pro-people economic environment, so that people will get employment with the expansion and strengthening of the economy.

He further assured that the PTI believes in merit and it would be destructive to fill government institutions on political grounds.
