The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited all International Cricket Council (ICC) board members, including Indian counterparts, to watch the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Karachi on March 17.
Invitations have been sent to ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar and Chief Executive David Richardson as well as Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Amitabh Choudhary, according to media reports, while there is little chance that BCCI heads and ICC chief, who is also from India, will come to Karachi amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and India.
Reports said the invitations were sent before tensions escalated between the two countries; however, they would have never sent the invite to India in this situation.
The main aim to invite senior officials from other boards is so that they can witness the security situation in the country themselves.
The board is expecting a visit of officials from Afghanistan, England, Ireland, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan had said the board has invited security managers of Australia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for the PSL 4 final in Karachi.
