QUETTA: Life is crippled in Balochistan amid torrential rainfall and snowfall in different areas of the province, particularly Chagai district.

The Balochistan government has imposed health emergency in the province after a heavy downpour caused flash flooding in local nullahs of Balochistan along with hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan.

The severe rains also resulted in landslides in Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Moreover, the rains have damaged many mud houses in Qila Saifullah. The weather of Quetta turned chilly by receiving snowfall in the month of March.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted widespread rain and snowfall over the hills accompanied with a windstorm in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad divisions in Balochistan and Sindh.

Meanwhile, commuters have been undergoing difficulties while snowfall blocked several routes and highways in the country.

Several inches of snow has been recorded in Murree, Galyat, and Shagar, leaving many local people stranded in the region.
