LAHORE: Senior film artistes have appreciated the Film Exhibition Association of Pakistan for imposing a ban on the showing of Indian films in Pakistan.
Talking to APP here on Friday, filmstars Masood Akhtar, Qavi Khan, Shaan Shahid, Mehwish Hayat, Mawra Hocane, Shafqat Cheema and Nadeem Beg said that they were producing high-quality films and the ban on Indian films would give a further boost to production of local films.
They said that the Pakistan film industry had never sought help from the Indian industry since 1947.
They said that the local artistes and related people established the local cinema on their own and produced hundreds of quality films.
They said that Pakistan was a sovereign country and it did not need any help from an enemy country in any field.
