The Punjab government has placed a ban on the use of mobile phones for teachers which applies to all public and private schools.
A letter was sent by the district education authority to the heads of all schools in this regard. According to the letter, the teachers were told to submit their mobile phones to the school in the morning during assembly time.
Mobile phones will be returned at the end of each day, the letter reads.
Explaining the reason behind the ban, the letter says that the use of mobile phone during class creates distraction for students. A similar ban was imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during October last year.
