Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday condemned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s decision to not attend the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Abu Dhabi.

Bilawal wrote on twitter that it was “unfortunate” that the government has decided not to attend OIC.

“Important international forums must be engaged at this critical time to put Pakistan’s point of view across and expose India’s belligerence and naked aggression. Cutting your nose to spite your face is never a great strategy,” he tweeted.

On Friday morning, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced in a joint parliamentary meeting that he will boycott the OIC meeting in Abu Dhabi, taking offense with OIC’s decision to invite Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj as ‘guest of honour’.
