KARACHI: The Sindh police here on Wednesday was put on red alert till further orders.
As per details, a high-level conference was held at the Central Police Office (CPO) with Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Iman in the chair. The meeting discussed the current situation in the country with stress on maintaining law and order in the province.
The IGP instructed the Sindh police to be on a red alert till further orders. All leaves of Sindh police officers and cops stand cancelled. The cops on leave were directed to immediately report back to their departments. Command and control centres at CPO would ensure constant monitoring of law and order.
He instructed that security for foreigners, sensitive installations and other important places should be further beefed up. He asked for boosting intelligence gathering at the provincial level and ensure immediate response to actionable information.
“Rekey, surveillance, snap checkings, patrols and surprise checking are to be enhanced also. Reserve platoons, police commandos, and all police vehicles should be kept in a ready condition,” he ordered.
