Govt calls PMRA meeting on March 5

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has called the first meeting of political stakeholders to discuss the affairs of Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PMRA) which would be chaired by federal minister for information and broadcasting.

No media representative has been invited to the meeting.

According to sources, the meeting has been will take place on March 5 at the boardroom of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) headquarters in the federal capital.

Those invited to the meeting include Marriyum Aurangzeb from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Dr Musaddik Malik of PML-N, Nafisa Shah of PPP, Tariq Khokhar, Ahmed Pansota and Shahid Khokhar Advocate from Pakistan Television (PTV).

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) Secretary Shafqat Jalil, MoIB secretary IT, MoIB MoIB additional secretary, PEMRA chairman, MoIB IP Wing director general, Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) chairman and representative of Law Division will also attend the meeting.
