Dawar Lashari’s play Blood Brothers all set to mesmerise Pakistani audiences

After the sensational hit musical, Date Night, which enthralled audiences in Lahore and Karachi, Dawar Lashari and his team are working on yet another extraordinary West End musical hit; Blood Brothers.

Starting from February 28 till March 10, at Al-Hamra, Mall Road Hall#1. With a hand-picked cast of veteran performers, the play promises to be one of the most notable theatre escapades of DL productions till date.

After working on the script for more than a year, Dawar Lashari and his supremely talented cast look to deliver justice to this renowned tale.

The cast includes some familiar faces that have starred in Dawar’s previous plays; Ian Eldred played the lead role in Boeing Boeing (2011) and Bird Cage (2012). Waleed Zaidi, whose face has become a regular feature on television screens as well, was the co-lead of Dawar’s most recent venture, Date Night (2017).

Another prominent cast member who will be part of this production is Iman Shahid, who has been a part of many plays in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to back up her credentials. Promising new talent Rasti Farooq, Abdullah Ghazanfar, Omer Cheema will also be playing a major role in the play.

Russel’s creative masterpiece follows the story of two twins separated at birth, and unbeknown to them, are bound by a prophecy. Eddie is given to a wealthy foster family, while Mickey is raised in the slums. Following a narrative arc and subtly hinting at socialist principles, the story follows the brothers’ form their childhood to adulthood and the obstacles they face.

With dynamic dance performances, several encores, lavish sets and technical contrivances Dawar Lashari’s Blood Brothers is a not to be missed musical performance.
