RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will undergo an angiography at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC).

It has been reported that members of the Sharif family have consented to the test. “Nawaz Sharif will be shifted to Rawalpindi from Lahore after consultation with him,” reports said.

The medical team at the RIC has been directed to complete all necessary arrangements for carrying out the procedure.

Earlier in the day, Maryam Nawaz reached Jinnah Hospital to see her father.

In her formal interaction with reporters, Maryam said, the medical board has given its report to the Interior Ministry.

The incarcerated prime minister was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital from the Kot Lakhpat jail in the light of a medical board’s report.

According to Dr Tajamul, the head of medical board, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is not suffering from any ‘deadly’ disease. He relayed that a report was sent to the jail authorities about Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) supremo’s treatment.

Yesterday, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had voiced concern over the medical facilities being provided to his elder brother Nawaz Sharif.

Speaking to reporters after visiting his ailing brother at the hospital, he demanded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial government to implement the recommendations of a panel of medical experts constituted to assess the three-time prime minister’s health.

He said that Nawaz Sharif’s treatment should not be delayed for any reason.
