LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Managing Director (MD) Khalid Nazir on Thursday visited different areas in the provincial capital and reviewed cleanliness as well as water disposal arrangements made to deal with rainwater.
The waste removal process was expedited on the special directions of LWMC MD. Turk companies, including Albayrak and OzPak, were also directed to stay on the field and ensure proper cleanliness in city areas.
LWMC staff cleared 140 points for swift disposal of rainwater by removing solid waste from there.
The MD visited Garhi Shahu, Lakshmi Chowk, Bhatti Chowk, Chauburji Chowk, Samanabad, Gulshane Ravi, Ferozepur Road and other areas and directed the staff to ensure proper cleanliness in the coming days as well.
Later, Khalid Nazir also convened a meeting of the LWMC officials at the central office and directed them to ensure better cleanliness during rains, as per plan. He said that the absence of workers at choking points will not be tolerated at all.
