  • Looking towards peace
At last, the chess game of super powers is coming to an end, after a long scuffle because of foreign interference, especially of United States, Syria is now heading towards peace. America, the slayer of world peace, failed; its disastrous and ruinous wishes could not work again, but succeeded to earn billions with sales of weaponries.
Now, Syrian forces will surely win and control the other areas in a short span, it’s also sure that west will stop interference; it will help Syria to rebuild at a quick pace. The ill-fated country requires enormous financial support and a lot of patience as it has faced massive losses in human, social, physical and financial aspect. The international community is now forced to solve the Syrian conflict’s complexity and trying to find out a road map to achieve sustainable peace. It’s not out of humanity or to help Syrians, it’s in their own interest, their “Syrian war” expenses are horribly raised, in addition, public of America and its allies is strongly opposing their war maniac attitude,  because of high rate of killings of their soldiers in the battle field of Syria.
As per the World Bank estimates, $180 billion investment is required just to return Syrian GDP to its pre-conflict level. This offer for reconstruction is conditional with the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to their areas or origin. A financially stable and rich country brought down to knees by the American sick minded zealots, is now looking forward towards the World Bank for its financial settlement. Number of cities have become debris, millions lost their houses, millions are displaced, millions got killed, just for one reason that Washington wanted the control of Syria without Bashr al Assad. A happy nation was turned into a scream by the butcher, Washington.
If west is really serious to provide any leverage, it can determine Syria’s settlement for future, while taking into consideration all the dynamics, but they should remember that state institutions cannot be automatically restored to their pre-2011 status. On the other side, America will try that Russia and Iran don’t remain fully aligned for the long term. Differences between Russia and Iran may open up opportunities for exploring potential political transition scenarios in Syria more amenable to the US and its European allies. Bashar al Asad should be more careful than earlier, the monkeys can jump from a tree to the other.
The international community’s efforts focus mainly on the balancing of power between fighting parties
The international community’s efforts focus mainly on the balancing of power between fighting parties and on short-term stabilisation instead of negotiating an inclusive peace agreement. The policymakers, experts, academics and civil society leaders are trying to identify the main institutional and socioeconomic challenges to stabilisation in Syria, and offer recommendations in support of an inclusive peacebuilding process. Despite six years of incoherent policy, western countries can still positively shape Syria’s post-conflict settlement. This may be their last chance.
Western policy towards Syria over the past six years looks largely a failure. Russia, Iran and Turkey have won both diplomatic and military battles in Syria and now appear in place to shape the eventual outcome in their interests, game over for the west.
Shrewd western powers, specifically US, UK and France still retain some leverage; the greatest leverage they possess is economic. They can blackmail Syria especially under the claim to tackle extremism and help alleviate the refugee crisis. Russia and Iran have neither the capital to fund large-scale reconstruction efforts nor the interest in doing so. One area already allowing the US and Russia to find common cause is the fight against extremist groups. It can open up for the US to return to the diplomatic table.
West should learn a lesson from  the past six years interference in Syria, western countries must avoid being vague about the endgame in Syria and failing to match rhetoric with action. Their demand for President Bashar al-Assad to step down was never backed by international quarters, instead it looked like a personal fray which resulted in death of millions. American president’s hands are full with blood of millions of innocent citizens, just for his ego to get the president of Syria to down. America’s support to extremist groups against Assad caused all the destruction in the area. Perhaps it was a scheme to favour Israel. At one stage in 2014, the Obama administration found itself in the curious position of being more afraid of the fall of Assad than of the defeat of the rebels to which it provided support. Western countries have played a very dirty role on the face of supporting humanitarian aid, civil society, local governance to the Syrian political opposition, which resulted in a deadly prolonged war.
No doubt Assad’s victory has raised tension in the western world; they are not ready to accept that the Syrian conflict finishes with Assad in power. They have no clearly identifiable end and a lot many questions about the viability of the return of 6.3 million internally displaced Syrians to their homes and of 4.9 million who have sought refuge outside the country. In many cases, refugees and internally displaced persons already face obstacles to returning to their areas of origin, either because they have invested in new lives elsewhere or because their homes have been devastated or taken over by other groups. Inadequate support for refugees may push some of those refugees especially young people growing up without education or career prospects towards crime and extremism. At the very least, a lack of support will make them more vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.
Since 2011, western policymakers have not only failed to bring an end to a brutal conflict but also shied away from confronting the biggest refugee crisis ever experienced, despite this, there is still an opportunity to re-shape Syria for the good, drawing on painful lessons learned from the past six years. Or else, stop interference in Syria, let Assad make his efforts for peace in his country, he and his country has faced a brutal war enforced by murderer Washington and allies.
Practically, Russia, Iran and Turkey  appear to be the participants willing and able to bring the conflict to a resolution. It will also strengthen the position of Russia, not only in the region but at the international forum.
The ulterior motives of Washington has killed millions of innocent citizens, millions displaced, destroyed number of cities, largest destruction after world-war-II, and disturbed the peace of the region putting Muslim world at high alert. Washington should remember; one day America will surely face the same brutality in its territory; law of averages is always there.
Washington very deceitfully and treacherously managed Muslims fighting Muslims, killing each other. It’s so distressing, Muslim bloc could not realise the American intentions. Now, when Syria is heading towards peace, west should stop its interference in the region rather try to provide every possible help to restore the peace. This may be their last chance.
