Suicide attack kills at least 20 members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards

GENEVA: At least 20 members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards were killed in a suicide attack in the southeast of the country, Fars news reported on Wednesday.

The attack happened on the road between the cities of Zahedan and Khash, a volatile area near the Pakistan border. Ten members of the Guards were also wounded in the attack, which targeted a bus transporting the security force, Fars reported.

Militant group Jaish al Adl has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistan condemned the attack.

“Shocked and grieved to hear about the suicide attack on IRGC bus near Zahidan today, in which many lives were lost,” Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said in a statement.
