RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Punjab Educators Association (PEA) on Wednesday demanded the restoration of the Chief Minister (CM) Package that had ended on Jan 1.
According to the details, the PEA has demanded that all SST teachers should be regularised in Grade 17 while all EST teachers should be regularised in Grade 16, whereas the primary teachers who were working in Grade 14 should be given two additional increments.
Leaders of Rawalpindi PEA including District President Malik Amjad Mehmood, General Secretary Akhyan Gull Tahir, Tehsil President Raja Basharat Iqbal, Chairman Rashid Mehmood and others demanded that injustice in the regularisation process should be ended.
They said that the contract service period should be included in the regular service period, adding that the teachers who had been recruited from 2002 to 2006 were regularised in 2009 upon the Supreme Court’s (SC) orders and their three to seven years contract service has not been included in regular service.
Two years’ service period has not been included in their regular period of service in respect of teachers who were recruited in 2009 and regularised in 2011, while teachers who had been recruited in 2010 and 2012 and were regularised in 2015. None of their three and six years contract services have been included in the regular service period.
The PEA demanded that the teachers’ contract service period should be included in the regular service period, besides regularisation of all contract educators and abolition of the contract system.
