PAF war veteran Tariq Habib Khan passes away

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) war veteran Wing Commander (r) Tariq Habib Khan passed away after a prolonged illness on Wednesday.

The celebrated war hero had shown extraordinary gallantry in the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971. The government had conferred upon him the Sitara-e-Jurat (Star of Courage) which is the third highest military award of Pakistan.

Khan’s funeral prayers were offered at the Nur Khan Airbase in Chaklala. A large number of war heroes, civil and military personalities and people belonging to different walks of life were present.

He was laid to rest at the PAF Chaklala Cemetery with full military honours.

Later, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan expressed his condolences on the demise of the national hero.

The air force chief said that Khan was an extraordinary fighter and a patriot whose services for the country would never be forgotten.
