KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that some unscrupulous elements are trying to give a linguistic colour to the murder of Irshad Ranjhani.
This he said on Wednesday after inaugurating the Mir Ghulam Mohammad Talpur Degree College in Tando Bago, District Badin. He was accompanied by Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah.
The Sindh CM said that he had nothing to do with Irshad Ranajhani’s nationality or the language he spoke, but the way he was killed in cold blood was a crime against humanity and an open challenge to the writ of the government that showed no respect for the law of the land. “I will not spare anybody who takes the law into his hand,” he added.
“This is not a linguistic issue but it was a crime against humanity and the law has taken its due course. Nobody would be allowed to create hatred in the society,” he said while adding that the people living in Sindh were his Sindhi brothers irrespective of the language they spoke and the religion they practised so, he would protect their lives and property.
Talking about the murder of three labourers at Larkana, The Sindh CM said that it was another inhumane act and he had directed the police to unearth the culprits behind it after which cases would be registered against them under the anti-terrorism act.
“I would not allow them to destroy peace and tranquillity in the province,” he assured.
He further told the media that he had directed the Larkana commissioner and DIG to contact the heirs of the deceased for making necessary arrangements to shift their bodies to their respective villages. “I have asked the DIG to send his police team with the bodies to their villages and offer condolences with them on my behalf,” he said.
