RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday notified 50 Palestinian families living in northern Jordan Valley to evacuate their homes early Wednesday to pave the way for military exercises scheduled to be carried in the area, a Palestinian source said.
Palestinian official in charge of the Jordan Valley file in Tubas, Moataz Bisharat, said in a statement that around 300 people will be displaced to allow Israeli occupation military training in the area.
Conducting such military training causes material damage and poses greatest threat to the lives of the Palestinians living in the area, Bisharat revealed .
“Preparing for tomorrow’s military drill, last Tuesday, the Israeli army destroyed more than 600 dunums planted with different kinds of crops and razed around 140 dunums of Palestinian’s lands,” he added.
