PESHAWAR: An accountability court on Tuesday indicted Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Dr Arbab Alamgir and Asma Alamgir again.
The former federal minister for communications and his wife, who was a member of National Assembly (MNA), appeared before the court as it heard a case against them for accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.
After hearing their arguments, the court indicted them again after removing the “foreign assets” part from their indictment. The earlier reference had mentioned that they owned foreign properties.
Previously, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a corruption reference against the former federal minister and his wife for allegedly accumulating assets worth Rs332 million which is disproportionate to known sources of income.
The hearing was then adjourned as the court summoned three witnesses, Sher Dil, Kaleem Shehzad and Dr Rehan, at the next hearing.
