DUBAI: English all-rounder Samit Patel is looking forward to playing another final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi, a local media outlet reported on Monday.
Patel, who was part of the winning Islamabad United squad last year, shared his excitement for the upcoming edition of the PSL.
“The boys are ready and looking forward to be back in action come Thursday. I think it’s a great competition with great players. We are ready and raring to go,” Patel said.
Recalling last year’s final, the all-rounder said it was a great experience playing in Karachi. “The crowd was pretty loud. We received some great hospitality. It’s a shame we had to fly out right after the game.”
Sharing his thoughts on Mohammad Sami as the captain, Patel said Sami’s experience would be invaluable for the team.
“We have a pretty inexperienced squad, and Sami has got a lot of knowledge and experience. He will obviously have to learn his way in each and every game,” Patel said, adding that Sami is also a quiet captain like Misbah was.
The English cricketer praised the bowling standards in the PSL, comparing it to that in the famed Indian Premier League (IPL).
“Hopefully, I will contribute to the winning team same like last year,” he added
