FAISALABAD: At least one person was killed and two others injured in a robbery attempt in the Thekri Wala area of the city.
According to police, employees of a petrol pump were trying to steal Rs5 million from the filling station.
“The robbery was foiled and the culprits fled the scene,” officials said.
Earlier, a dacoit was killed and his accomplice injured in an exchange of fire with police in the city on February 2. A police volunteer and a passerby were also injured in the shootout.
The dacoits had opened fire when a police team had reached the site of robbery, police sources had said.
A volunteer of police, Tariq, and a passerby, Hakim, were injured in the firing. The police party had responded to the firing that continued for 20 minutes.
During the exchange of fire, a dacoit identified as Asghar Maseeh was killed whereas his accomplice Asghar Maseeh had been injured and arrested by the police.
