ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Monday informed that Pakistani ministers were well aware of the technology revolution taking place in the world and had deliberated on future technology challenges in regard to artificial intelligence in this regard.
Talking to media persons after attending a high-level ministerial meeting on artificial intelligence on the second day of World Government Summit, Fawad said that the meeting was related to the use of new technology in the best possible way.
“The world is passing through the revolution of technology which has immense benefits, but there are also challenges related to such development and the world will have to work collectively to face these challenges,” he said.
He informed that various groups from around the world including the United Nations (UN), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Labour Unions gave their presentations in the meeting.
He said that challenges, resulting after the introduction of the digital economy were also discussed.
“Vehicles without drivers would be introduced in the next phase of technology development which could be a challenge for people related to the driving profession,” Fawad told.
“Various working groups would have to be constituted to resolve the challenges,” the minister opined.
