ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haque on Monday said that the government has no intention of removing Asad Qaiser from National Assembly (NA) speakership.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said that Asad Qaiser is a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member and a veteran politician. He does his job within the ambit of law, he added.

Talking about the proceedings of the House, he said that the government would decide about the matters related to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and production orders if Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) assures that it would not chant slogans in the House and would not hamper the legislation process.

“The government wants the proceedings of NA and PAC to be in accordance with the rules and procedures. Our talks with opposition parties are underway but PML-N’s intentions do not seem to be good,” he said.

“During the tenure of the PML-N, every wrong thing was done but our members of the House were not allowed to speak,” he said.
