–Naeemul Haq says PTI government shares ‘strong alliance’ with PML-Q
–No plot being made to topple Punjab CM Buzdar, clarifies Shujaat
LAHORE: The leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have denied the impression of differences between the coalition partners on Sunday.
PML-Q stalwart Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and PTI’s Naeemul Haq told media here that some people wanted to create differences between the two parties by spreading rumours.
A delegation of the PTI leadership visited the residence of Chaudhry Shujaat in Lahore and talked with the PML-Q leader over extension in the federal cabinet.
Haq said the government’s alliance with the PML-Q is quite strong.
The PM’s adviser said Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is playing a vital role in his position as the speaker of the Punjab Assembly. He said two PML-Q ministers are a part of the cabinet and the government will take more ministers from PML-Q whenever the federal or provincial cabinets are expanded.
“Chaudhry Shujaat is a seasoned politician. We have learned a lot from him and will continue doing so in the future too,” he added.
Haq said the PTI delegation visited Chaudhry Shujaat on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said the visit of PTI leaders aimed at telling the world that the two parties share a strong bond.
He said the PTI will get the benefit of the experience of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
‘NO CONSPIRACY’:
Talking to media, Chaudhry Shujaat said no conspiracy was being hatched against Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and “if someone will try to do so our party will not back them.”
“There are rumours that some political plots are being made to topple the Usman Buzdar government,” he said. “We, however, will never become a part of any such conspiracy.”
He said that both parties are committed to moving ahead together. He denied reports that any PML-Q leader met with PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz.
Meanwhile, Chaudhry Moonis Elahi is expected to be indicted in the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet.
