ISLAMABAD: Reacting to the likely meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government has already completely terms and conditions of the fund, questioning the “drama being staged over it”.
In her statement, Marriyum slammed the PTI government for implementing IMF condition “by using backdoor” while Finance Minister Asad Umar had already confirmed the government’s decision regarding the expected programme.
She added that the government had already dropped “inflation bomb” on the nation besides devaluation of Pakistan rupee up to 35 per cent, removal of Hajj subsidy and hike in power and gas tariffs on the orders of the IMF.
The PML-N spokesperson asked why “the government was staging a new drama of meeting IMF delegation despite implementation of all terms and conditions.”
“The nation should be made aware of a new wave of inflation, rate of devaluation of national currency and US dollar,” Marriyum added.
She said that the rulers were now making the decision in a secret manner who promised before parliament and nation of promoting truth. The nation should get readied for another wave of inflation due to ineligibility of the government, she said.
